Short answer: fix your lead photo, make your prompts specific enough to comment on, and remove anything generic. Hinge rewards profiles that make it easy to start a conversation β and punishes profiles that make everyone scroll past.
1. Fix your photo order first
Your first photo is your first impression. It needs to be a clear, solo face shot with good light. Everything else comes after that.
- Lead photo must-haves: clear face, solo (no group), natural light or well-lit, smiling or at least approachable expression
- Kill the sunglasses lead photo β people want to see your face, not your frames
- Include at least one context photo β doing something, somewhere interesting. It gives people a starting point.
- 6 photos is the max β use all of them. Fewer photos = less to comment on.
2. Make your prompts actually commentable
Every prompt answer should make it easy for someone to comment or ask a question. Test yours with this: "Could literally anyone write this?" If yes, rewrite it.
β "I will drag you on a hike and apologize the whole way up. Totally worth it."
β "Looking for someone with strong opinions about something that doesn't matter at all."

3. Choose prompts that invite responses
The best Hinge prompts are the ones that make it easy to comment. These consistently perform well:
- Two truths and a lie β people almost always want to guess
- Change my mind aboutβ¦ β invites a debate
- My most irrational fear isβ¦ β relatable and easy to respond to
- The way to win me over isβ¦ β shows personality without being a list of adjectives
4. What to remove immediately
- Any prompt answer that starts with "I loveβ¦" and ends with a general activity
- "Just ask!" as a prompt answer β use the space
- Group shots where it's unclear which person is you
- Bathroom mirror selfies as your lead photo
- Bio that's just a list of adjectives: "funny, adventurous, down to earth"
5. Fill out all three prompts
Each unfilled prompt is a missed opportunity to show personality. Three prompts = three different chances for someone to comment. Use them all.
